Who can open an account
Available to residents of around 100 countries (a separate, more limited product serves US users). A number of jurisdictions are excluded and the list shifts, so check eToro for your country; onboarding is online with document-upload KYC.
US persons
Separate US product (eToro USA) — narrower offering; the exchange list on this page reflects the non-US platform
Markets covered

Visible stock-exchange list: NASDAQ, NYSE, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Sydney, Stockholm, Oslo, Hong Kong, Tokyo Stock Exchange, Milan and Helsinki. That is 12 exchanges but 11 country markets because NASDAQ and NYSE are both US.

eToro marketing elsewhere says 6,000+ stocks on 20 exchanges, but the visible exchange list is 12 exchanges / 11 countries. Exact security, ownership form and CFD status must be checked before trading.

Client focus
global retail / social investing
Recommendation
Useful mainstream global app, but not a serious frontier-market broker

Status: Verified - 8 June 2026. I have an eToro account. Market/product details below are researched from eToro’s public pages; exact instrument availability and CFD/underlying treatment must be checked in the live account before trading.

What it is

eToro is a global retail social-investing platform. It is far more global as a client platform than as a frontier-market access tool. It is useful to mention because many investors already have it, and because it can cover popular developed-market stocks, ETFs, ADRs and global thematic instruments.

It should not be treated like IBKR, Saxo, Swissquote, Boom/Monex or Phillip. eToro’s universe is curated, and product treatment depends on entity, residence, leverage and instrument type.

Market access

eToro’s stock page says users can choose from 6,000+ stocks on 20 exchanges. It also says not every stock from each exchange is available. The current stock filter, however, shows 12 exchanges (see the screenshot below):

For the site’s country-market count, that is 11 countries because NASDAQ and NYSE are both US. The broader markets page says eToro offers stocks, ETFs, indices, commodities, currencies, crypto and Smart Portfolios, with CFDs available for several asset classes.

For this directory, that means:

Best use case

Use eToro when the target is a widely available liquid stock, ADR, ETF or simple thematic exposure and the app already supports your residence.

Skip it when you need direct exchange access, local custody, obscure small caps, phone orders, corporate-action reliability, transfers in/out, or full certainty on underlying ownership.
