Status: Verified — confirmed by direct email correspondence with Standard Investment (Tegshzaya, Settlement Senior Manager), May 2026. See the Mongolia country page for context.
Why Standard Investment
Mongolia used to be filed under “you have to fly there.” That’s no longer true for Standard Investment: they onboard foreign individuals remotely by courier — you courier physically-signed original hard copies (DHL or similar) to Mongolia, with no Mongolia visit and (per the basic document list) no notarization or apostille required.
What they handle
The big advantage is integrated onboarding — Standard Investment sets up all three relationships you need at once: the Central Securities Depository account, the brokerage account, and the bank account. Document list confirmed in writing: CSD agreement (2 copies), brokerage service agreement (2 copies), passport copy, and ID-card copy. There’s a small account-opening fee of 40,000 MNT (about USD 12 at current rates).
My take
The courier process was confirmed in writing by a named contact (Tegshzaya): you sign the original hard copies and courier them (DHL or similar) to Mongolia. For foreign-individual Mongolian equity access, this is the recommended route. TDB Securities is the secondary option, but requires an in-person visit for foreign citizens.
